Day1 : ATHENS APT – ATHENS CITY TOUR – LOUTRAKI
Arrival at Athens Airport. Departure for the beautiful capital of Greece, Athens, in a guided sightseeing tour. Athens is a city of great cultural interest as well as a bustling, modern city. The harmonious and perfectly balanced combination between the old and the new make Athens unique. With our expert guide you will see the Panathenaic Stadium where the first Olympic Games of modern times were held in 1896. Continue and pass by the Prime Minister’s residence (ex Royal Palace), the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Hadrian’s Arch, the Greek Parliament and the memorial to the Unknown Soldier and so more. Free time in Plaka and departure for Loutraki.Dinner and overnight
2nd Day: BLUE – LAKE MONASTERY
Half day tour to monastery of Ossios Patapios and lunch in Blue Lake.Pick up from your hotel and we begin our day with a fascinating visit to the important Monastery of Osios Patapios. Potapios was born in the 4th or 5th century at Thebes in Egypt. He is known for his many miracles helping people. Originally buried in the Church of St John the Baptist in Constantinople, his relic was brought later to the Geraneia mountains by other ascetics and sealed in a cave. The monastery has a breathtaking view to both Corinthian & Saronic Gulfs.
Afterwards, drive to the Cape Heraion where the ruins of the ancient settlement and of the famous Sanctuary of Hera are located.
Then, explore a region of rare natural beauty in Blue Lake, an amazing lagoon located 3km east of cape Heraion.
The most interesting fact about the lake is that it communicates with the waters of the Corinthian Gulf from a very narrow channel.Lunch in a traditional Greek tavern and early in the afternoon return to Loutraki
3nd Day: ARGOLIS
The full day tour of Argolis is a trip to some of the most important archaeological sites of Greece, in the most characteristic Greek-Mediterranean scenery of Peloponnese.
Leaving Loutraki behind and driving trough the hills of Corinth we’ll arrive at prefecture of Argolis where we’ll visit the archaeological site of Mycenae. Visit the Lion’s Gate, the Cyclopean Walls, and the Royal Tombs e.t.c. Then we’ll drive through the plain of Argos among endless farms of orange trees and forty minutes later we’ll arrive to the picturesque town of Nafplion the first capital of the Greek State in the early 1830s. The Old Town is lovely, with old mansions and paved paths. The whole town gives a Noeclassical vibe that attracts all visitors. Lunch at a traditional tavern.
From Nafplion, driving through the winding roads of Argolis, we are going to visit Epidaurus, famous for it’s ancient theatre. In the afternoon,return to Loutraki.
Day 4 CORINTH CANAL CRUISE
Leaving Loutraki in the morning, there will be a short stop at Corinth Canal before continuing to Isthmia port ,for the embarkation in the boat for the Canal crossing ( 1hour).
Then we take the way back to Loutraki.
Day 5 : Departure for Athens Apt
Tour includes:
-Transfer from the Athens airport to Loutraki and vice versa
– 4 nights at a hotel in Loutraki on bed & breakfast basis,
– 4 lunches at local restaurants,
– Organized group sightseeing tours accompanied by a licensed guide
– Pick up from the hotel and drop back for the tour
