Day 1: Athens
Arrival at the Athens Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos”. Meet and greet by our professional English speaking assistant and transfer to the hotel .Dinner at the hotel and overnight.
Day 2: Athens city tour
Breakfast at the hotel. At the indicated time meet at the lobby of the hotel by our Professional English speaking guide and departure to realize the half day Athens city tour. This tour gives you an opportunity to observe the striking contrast that makes Athens such a fascinating city. Our expert guides will show you the center of the city, Constitution Square (Syntagma), the Houses of Parliament, the Tomb of the Unknown soldier and the National library.
Driving down Herod Atticus street, you will watch the Evzones (Greek Presidential guards) in their unique uniforms and see the Presidential residence. On your way to the Acropolis you will see the Hadrian’s Arch, the Temple of Olympian Zeus and you will make a short stop at the Panathenaic Stadium where the first Olympic Games of the modern era were held in 1896.
On the Acropolis visit the architectural masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens: the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and finally, “the harmony between material and spirit”, the monument that “puts order in the mind”, the Parthenon and the tour will continue with the visit of the new museum of Acropolis.
Duration of tour about 4.5 hours.
Lunch at local restaurant in the area of Plaka, the old town of Athens. Return to the hotel.
Afternoon free for the guests to stroll around and discover the beauties of the city. Dinner at the hotel and overnight.
Day 3: Athens – Corinth – Mycenae – Epidauros – Nafplion
Breakfast at the hotel in Athens and check out. At the indicated time meet at the lobby of the hotel by our Professional English speaking guide and departure to realize the multi day excursion in Greek province. Today guests will have the opportunity to visit the Ancient Corinth, passing through the Corinth Canal and then continue to Mycenae with the well known Lion Gate, the Tomb of Agamemnon. Lunch on the way in a local restaurant.
After lunch continue with the visit of the famous theatre of Epidaurus with the unique acoustic and depart for Nafplion.
Distances from Athens to Corinth 1 hour drive. Corinth to Epidauros 2 hours. Epidauros to Mycenae 1,5 hour. Mycenae to Nafplion 45 minutes.
In the afternoon arrival in Nafplion. Enjoy dinner and overnight at the hotel in Nafplion.
Day 4: Nafplion
Breakfast at the hotel and we start our tour at the picturesque town of Nafplion the first capital of the Greek State in the early 1830s. The Old Town is lovely, with old mansions and paved paths. The whole town gives a Noeclassical vibe that attracts all visitors. In the afternoon a short visit to the beautiful village of Tolo with perfect beaches. Dinner and overnight in Nafplion
Day 5: Nafplion – Bassae – Olympia
Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Travel towards Bassae where guests will have the opportunity to visit the temple of Epicurean Apollo. Distance Nafplion – Bassae about 3 hours drive. Lunch on the way in local restaurant. After lunch we will continue our trip to Olympia. Distance Bassae-Olympia about 1:30 hour drive. Arrival in Olympia in the afternoon. The birth place of the Olympic games. Enjoy dinner and overnight at the hotel in Olympia.
Day 6: Olympia – Delphi
Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Visit of the historical site and museum of Olympia. Lunch at local restaurant in Olympia and departure towards the small but well known city of Delphi. The centre of the ancient world as per Greek mythology, the Omphalos (Navel of the Earth). Arrival in Delphi and enjoy the dinner at the hotel and overnight at Delphi hotel.
Day 7: Delphi – Athens by night
Breakfast at the hotel in Delphi and check out. Visit the site and museum of Delphi. Guests will have the opportunity to see the ruins of the temple of Apollo where Pythia the priestess at the Temple was widely credited for her prophecies inspired by Apollo, giving her a prominence unusual for a woman in male-dominated ancient Greece. Pythia delivered oracles in a frenzied state induced by vapors rising from a chasm in the rock, and that she spoke gibberish which priests reshaped into the enigmatic prophecies preserved in Greek literature.
Also guests will admire the masterpieces in the museum such as the famous bronze Charioteer.
Lunch at local restaurant in Delphi. Continue with visit of the village of Arachova 5 minutes driving distance from Delphi famous for the handmade carpets and the local cheese formaela.
Return to Athens in the afternoon and transfer to the hotel for having a rest.
At about 20:30 hrs at the lobby of the hotel by our professional English speaking assistants and transfer to a local restaurant in the centre of Athens for enjoy dinner with Greek show, folkloric dancers and songs together with belly dancing.
Return to the Athens and overnight at Athens hotel.
Day 8: Departing Athens
Breakfast at the hotel and check out. At the indicated time meet at the lobby of the hotel by our professional English speaking assistant and transfer to the airport for embarkation at the departure flight.
